The morning after my first Weight Watchers Meeting. I feel sick and tired, weak and stuffy but am proud of myself for going despite all that and bad weather and poor driving conditions.

Don't ask me why I fumbled to take out my camera while driving in treacherous conditions. This project makes me do crazy things! It started off with freezing rain, then changed to snow. By the time I left the meeting at 8:00, this was the view from the mall parking lot.

I put it off one week because I was sick last week, but I decided to go anyway last night. The first meeting was a little strange, but I am going to stick with it, mainly for the accountability factor. I am ready to lose this excess weight that has crept up on me over the past few years, and I am glad that I have the support of others in WW and the D-OC to keep me going. It was, in part, because I saw how George was able to incorporate caring for his type 1 diabetes and losing weight with the help of the WW program that I decided I, too, could give it a try. I had always held off on it because I didn't know if it would work well with all the other counting and things I need to be mindful about in regards to my diabetes.
There are some things that I need to watch--like the one point peanut butter bliss bar they gave us last night to sample--it was delicious and only one point on the WW Flex plan, but not a good choice in regards to refined carbs and sugars for my diabetes. 13g/carbs. I plan on saving my weekly flex points for lows and the unexpected. We'll see how it goes. I'm hopeful that it can do some good if I allow it to work. Like they say in Alanon, "Keep comin' back, it works if you work it!" I sure hope so! Have a great weekend, everyone!

Amylia, those are some beautiful photos! I'm glad you're risking your life so we can see some lovely shots. :)

Good luck with the WW group. I hear you on the creeping weight issue :-( I joined a Bally's recently myself; hopefully we'll both see some good results soon.
Great photos--you remind me of when my husband was getting his pilot's license, and he snapped pictures while flying solo in a Cessna. Cool, but yikes!!
I'm proud of you!
Wow. WW, huh? I don't know that I could do it, just because I am so used to focusing on carbs. I have looked into it some. But who knows.
By the way, I have to say that I am very jealous of all the snow. It just doesn't snow like it used to here in the Southeast. :( I want a good snow this winter.
Such pretty pictures!
Great photos of the snow! I love looking at someone else's snow.
Good luck w/ the weight loss!
I am so happy you joined but I am so sad that you feel crummy.
I would love to share WW secrets and tips together so we can be DOCWWBFF's!
i'm very proud of you! come spring you're going to be feeling sooooooooo good! at least you got a star your first day too!
Amylia,
I'm glad you made it through that snowstorm safely. The snow was so pretty. You got some great pictures.
Good luck with the Weight Watchers. I hope it works out for you.
Ha! I'm cracking up at G-Money! He rocks!
I think it's great that you are giving it a shot.
I think that by focusing a little bit more on your food that you'll probably make better decisions and that will feel good. Like a deep, down, inside good. Doing good for yourself kind of good.
I think too that all of our "training" of having to already count carbs will make the points thing easier for you to keep track of than someone without all the extra practice.
I think you'll do fantastic.
Keep us posted!
Oh yeah!
I also meant to say how I love when we get those snowfalls that stick to all of the tree branches. Isn't it beautiful?
From your neighbor next door in snowy MinneSNOWta!
Good luck with the WW. Just another thing to add to the juggling act we all call life. But I know you can do this. If you can handle all the stuff you handles in Taipei, this so be a walk in the park.
I love WW, but thought I could continue losing weight without their support, plus between the dues and paying for a gym membership, losing weight was costlier than I wanted.
I did lose 30 pounds when I went to the meetings. It took a year because I "half assed" the program. I've kept off those 30 pounds for almost 2 yrs.
Good luck with it. It's really a great program.
